I left a lot of folks hanging here didn't I

I'm sorry about that. I really am.

It's not something I want to go into at length but basically I was using colors and other tcgs as a distraction at a point in my life when I really shouldn't have done that. Stuff caught up with me, I've moved on

I miss colors for the collection and trading but it's kinda scary I remember almost nothing at all about the game or the people I met there. A bit overused of a term but that period of time is a blank to me

I dunno if I'll come back, I want to but I don't trust myself to not do it all over again

So I guess I'm on hiatus indefinitely...also looks like I'll need a new host if I do come back

Man I do miss dreamwidth too tho *blows dust off journal*

I've been neglecting TCG stuff this month, due to how strangely hectic August has been. But you know what else I've been neglecting? Writing. I don't have an accurate word count for 2015 so far but it's definitely far lower than it ever was in the past few years. I get the feeling it's because I had to step up my art game this year for school and otherwise, but that's probably just in my head since I don't think there's such a thing as better art == less writing...right? (Haha who am I kidding)

I did get better at web development though! It's somehow comforting to know I can throw together a functional basic layout in just a few hours.

Speaking of web dev, school. oh god, school. I'm in my thesis production term and there's so much that I'll have to keep track of...and honestly it's still sinking in that I'm in my fourth year of college and that I'm an adult and that I'm getting ever closer to graduating going out into the 'real world'. It also means I'm definitely going to be even busier for the next three to four months than I was in August so this is probably the worst time to be getting into a new MMO (WAKFU) and deciding to write more in the coming months.

I'm fairly confident I can manage, but it's still going to be a pretty intimidating and daunting term.

On to fannish things. I haven't really made a dent in my list of 200+ to watch anime (it's now at 300+) but I did watch a lot of things so I feel good about it anyway. I just finished reading Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro today and I'm still reeling from all the feels. I can't hold all these feels, man. (Also, Neuro is hot ♥︎ ~~in both demon and human form~~)

Other fannish things I've been getting up to - well, I've decided to revamp one of my old Golbez roleplay blogs (formerly kneelbeforezot, don't worry I saved that URL).

Anyway, recently I did a thing:

So yeah, plans for the upcoming months: dying over thesis production, trying to git gud in video games, watching anime when I can, and hopefully writing a lot more than I have in 2015 so far.

Oh boy this is pretty much a dead account isn't it?

Weeeelll I found out about Colors TCG soooo I'll be using this account for that mostly probably...My writing can now be found on minstrelsy @ tumblr.

Gotta note though! I recently have gotten into Assassination Classroom and Magi: Labyrinth of Magic and I'm absolutely in love with both of them.

I'd been planning on posting a new entry back in May, but I got so caught up in the festivities and start-of-school things and then I recently got hit with weird stomach problems and, well, I ended up putting this off. I sadly haven't gotten any further with my project to add art to my fics. Hm, gotta work on making journal entries a habit. Anyway, life things first!

Basically, May 24 saw the third annual Promstuck of Homestuck Philippines (HSPH), but it was my first time to attend a prom. As in. I didn't go to my high school prom and I didn't go to graduation ball. I never really saw the point of it and thought it was all just really silly and a hypocritical event for the school to hold. Anyway! Promstuck was amazing and I had a lot of fun! It wasn't quite enough to completely remove the negative reaction I immediately have to the word "prom", but it's a start! Probably the greatest part was getting to meet all these amazing people and knowing that I had at least something great in common with them (namely, Homestuck). It was also awesome to see people dressed up in ~not quite~ costumes. I went as a Humanstuck Meenah! Here's a shot some kind soul took of me :)

I'm soooo excited for whatever prom HSPH comes up with next year! I even have plans for my outfit already and I pretty much managed to snag three friends to go as the Midnight Crew with me!

Now for some school related things! I went in for class today I saw that they had installed these huge lockers in our school and they were open for rent starting today. So I went ahead and rented myself one for the term. It's more of as a precaution than out of necessity, and honestly it would have been great if they had existed in the school five terms ago. Ah well, the locker slot is mine and I'm sure I can find some way to use it. Most likely I'll be leaving stuff there whenever I have to switch campuses, so I won't need to lug my books and possibly my laptop as well across three blocks of not-very-safe territory.

So far my classes have been pretty relaxed, although I can already tell which ones are going to be exceptionally stressful later on X.X

My Graphic Design 3 class is more of an advertising class and we're going to have to rebrand stuff and come up with ad campaigns. God, just typing that made me feel stressed already.

I'm not really too concerned with my front-end design class and its back-end counterpart class. I like the processes that go into designing user interfaces, even if I'm not that good with design itself. I like back-end programming even more so. I'll have to be careful still though. This kind of thinking has led me to being complacent and reckless in my work before >.>

3D Animation is still a little worrying, but I think I've gotten an all right grasp of 3DS Max after playing around within it. Still a long way to go though, we're only on our second exercise. That said, here's what we've done so far!

In our first activity we had to 3D-fy any character, so I ended up with Anpanman, a character from my childhood. The second one is to create a 3D bike using only splines in 3DS Max. Splines are basically 2D shapes represented in 3D. While Anpanman was made with 3D shapes (spheres, mostly) this bike is basically just all lines. It's not done and the above is basically a progress shot featuring the one part I spent most of my time on: the front wheel.

As part of my efforts to change my life around, I've started keeping a Tiddlyspace notebook to keep me organized in my fannish/web based pursuits. You see, I recently realized that I had somehow made my life revolve around fandom and roleplay, and...I really don't like that. So I've also decided to start journaling again and posting more than a few words about the things I do here on this DW.

So, personal updates first. Like I said recently, I've just entered my third year of college. In fact, yesterday was the first day. It was really quite stressful, as I had exactly one class in another campus squished between two classes in another (and my usual) campus. And the other campus happens to be an entire block away. So all my Mondays for this term will be like this.

I'm a bit worried about my 3D Animation class though. I'm required to use a specific software that has no OSX version, so I'll have to bust out the Vbox again. Worst still is that my school doesn't provide copies of required software for a student discount while simultaneously looking down on and discouraging piracy. Well, what do they expect their students to do in a situation like that?

In other news, I picked up a really neat organizer with so many pockets while in Hong Kong. So far it's served me well and I look forward to making lots of good use of it.

Promstuck is this Saturday and needless to say I am super --EXCIT--ED! I'll be going as Meenah, in a suit and hot pink shades, while my date will be going as Feferi. Well, hopefully she can attend, her parents have so far been utter bullshit about this.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders airs every Friday, but I only grab new episodes come Friday and my god I'm infinitely in a state of HYPE TRAIN for this series. I ended up joining the Jojo fandom last year after watching the anime of Part 1 and Part 2, then I read the entire manga up to Part 7. I still have to read Part 8, but I'm looking to start soon.

I'm not a very Faithful person, but I don't believe in coincidences (well, most of the time, I don't), and right now I think I firmly believe that the universe is conspiring to make me the most Cancer person ever.

I'm a Cancer by birth. I roleplay characters that are apparently best suited as Cancerians, or otherwise have obvious connections to the sign - Golbez, Spades Slick. I have the same issues as my patron Trolls in Homestuck. I was born on a Monday, so my presiding Archangel is Gabriel - moon and water. Just like Cancer. And I started roleplaying Gabriel before finding out about that.

So yes, I am apparently the most Cancer person ever. And honestly? I think I'm rather happy like this.
