[Transformers/Marvel/District 9]

Found some old stuff I wrote that I sort of like? Most of them were crossovers. Anyway, this one was a Marvel/District 9/Transformers one... yeah, I don't know either.

Sam looked up, watching as the mass of metal took a step closer towards them.

"What is it?" whispered Mikaela, though she wasn't looking at him. A quick glance at her revealed she was looking up at the robot with a strong sense of awe in her eyes.

"It's a robot," said Sam, stepping closer to her. "It's probably Japanese." He paused, as something occurred to him. "Or Stark," he added.

"Say something," whispered the young woman, gaze still caught on the robot.

Sam hesitated, then took a step forward. "Can you talk?" he called up, watching as it stepped even closer. It was watching them with large round blue eyes, which were essentially just a pair of lights. It made a soft, whirring sound.

Message from Starfleet, captain, it played, and Sam blinked, then couldn't help but smile a little.

"So you talk through... using the radio?" he asked. The robot nodded.

"Where do you come from?" Mikaela had found her voice, and was taking a few steps closer. Sam followed, lingering behind, but keeping as close as he could. He slipped his hand into hers, and she wrapped her fingers around his.

Visitor from the heavens, hallelujah! rang from its radio.

"It's an alien," breathed Mikaela. "But not like the prawns."

Sam nodded, moving in front of her now, their grip on each other still tight. "So you're from outer space?"

It nodded, raising a hand, before suddenly starting to shift and turn, pieces of it moving about. Eventually, it settled back down into the form of a Camaro, door opening wide for them.

Mikaela took a step back, just as Sam began moving towards it. He paused, turning to her.

"I think he wants us to get in."

Their gazes met, and she gave him a frown, a small shake of the head.

"Fifty years from now," he whispered, "You're gonna look back to this day and ask yourself if you regret getting in the car or not."

Mikaela's lips thinned, as she looked at the Camaro again.

"I can't do this," she said, stepping back again. "I've seen the videos. You know what they do to people who get too close to the aliens?"

Sam gave her hand a slight squeeze. "I'll protect you."

"You can't." Mikaela's eyes were determined, and there was an emotion that burned within them. An emotion Sam simply couldn't even begin to comprehend.

She turned, letting go of his hand, and began to walk off into the night. "I can't do this."

"Mikaela--" Sam starts, but he stops when she doesn't even pause. He settles for calling out, "At least let us give you a lift back home!"

She ignored him, and disappeared into the dark.

Sam slumped a bit. There went his hot female friend.

You've got a friend in me, quipped the Camaro.

"Yeah," he muttered as he walked over and clambered in. "Guess I do."

"Oh crap," said Epps, giving voice to everyone's sentiments as the F-22 strafed them yet again.

"This isn't working," said Lennox, looking around. He spotted the boy from earlier -- Sam? -- pulling himself up and towards the yellow robot.

Its legs, Lennox realized. Its legs had been blown off. He didn't know a lot about these alien robots, but as far as Lennox was concerned, they were soldiers in a war. Soldiers like him.

He moved, grabbing the Cube as he went, and shoved it into the kid's arms.

"Sir, we've just got a report."

"What is it?"

"Iron Man is on his way to Mission City."

"Oh, so unwise," said Megatron, his voice a deep rumble. He raised a hand, and before Sam even knew what was happening, he was falling, the building crumbling to pieces around him.

"Sam!"

He heard Optimus shout his name, but he was too far away. Rubble fell with him, and he screamed--

Something caught him, the sound of an engine roaring near him, accompanied by the steady hum of what could only be a battery.

Sam looked up, and nearly had a heart attack. Thankfully, he didn't drop the Cube, keeping it close to himself.

Iron Man was holding him. Iron Man was holding him.

He had to suppress the urge to just start squeeing like a little girl.

"There is one more issue I would like to address." Optimus's voice filled the room, a soothing rumble. "That of the Poleepkwa currently trapped here on Earth."

"The what?" Keller looked at him, curious.

"The Poleepkwa," began Optimus, "are an intelligent race whose home planet was once a trading partner of Cyberton's."

"You humans call them prawns," growled Ironhide from nearby. Then, as if to emphasize how displeased the Autobots were, he began to charge up one of his cannons.

"...oh."
